Turkey Cooking Times Chart For Thanksgiving?

Many questions find their way to my inbox and the dominating one this week has been on Turkey Cooking Times Chart for Thanksgiving.
Nancy wrote: I am going to cook thanksgiving dinner for the first time.
Yesterday I bought a 16 pound frozen turkey and stored it in my freezer.
Both my family and my husband's family are invited. How many hours do I need to cook the bird? please help!
My answer:
For a 16 pound turkey you need to cook for a total 5 to 5 1/2 hours: Roast first in 425 F preheated oven for approximately 1/2 an
hour, then reduce the heat to 325 F for the  rest of time.
Here are the Turkey Sizes, Roasting Times and Servings. Keep in mind that the amount of serving indicated in the chart below
depends on what other food you are serving beside the turkey.
If you think 16 pounds turkey will not be enough for your guests then add several side dishes, and additional food to your menu plan.
This chart is based on approaximately 1,5 pound per person.
6 – 8lbs 2 1/2 – 3 hours (serves 4 – 5)
8 – 12lbs 3 – 4 hours (serves 5 – 8)
12 – 16lbs 4 – 5 hours (serves 8 – 11)
16 – 20lbs 5 – 5 1/2 hours (serves 11 – 13)
20 – 24lbs 5 1/2 to 6 hours (serves 13 – 16)
Happy thanksgiving
