Baby Shower Recipes - Rice Pudding Desserts Recipe - Served when baby is born and at Baby Shower.  Its a boy, or its a girl! :) This is a traditional Mediterranean recipe and popular in Lebanese cooking.  Rice pudding served on special occasions and usually served when a baby is born, baby showers.  Normally served to the friends and family who visit to congratulate the new mother and father of there new bundle of joy.  As it is a delicious and quick recipe, it has become more common to make this any time of year and not just special occasions.  It is called Meghli, a pleasant twist to the normal rice pudding for sure.


1) In a medium size sauce pot, pour in the water and rice flour.  Whisk together well.

2) Add the sugar and stir until desolved.

3) Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low.

4) Add the cinnamon, caraway seeds, anise seeds. Mix together.

5) Continue mixing until the pudding becomes thicker.

7) While the pudding is still hot or warm, pour into serving bowls, allow to cool then decorate with coconut flakes, almonds and pistachios

8) Chill in the fridge before serving. Enjoy!





  1. 1 cup of rice flour
  2. 1 cup of sugar
  3. 8 cups of water
  4. 1 tablespoon of ground caraway seeds
  5. 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  6. 1 tablespoon ground anise seeds
  7. Raw almonds, pistachios, walnuts, coconut flakes (Garnish)
