Bread Pudding - Christmas Bread Pudding Recipe


A great recipe to serve warm on a cold Christmas Eve.  With lots of flavor this recipe will wow your family and friends.  Also it is an eggless recipe, so if anyone who can not eat eggs for whatever reason will truly enjoy it (there maybe eggs in the store bought bread) The holidays are always fun with a wide variety of delicious foods served during a season of giving and fun.  Try this Christmas Bread Pudding recipe and you will love it!  

Instructions:  Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) 
1) Using a 2 quart casserole dish, grease the dish with butter or cooking spray. 
2) Heat the sugar until it liquefies in a medium size saucepan.  
3) Insert a candy thermometer and cook the sugar without stirring, until it reaches 320 degrees F (160 degrees C) 
4) The syrup will look amber colored and clear.  
5) Pour in the water, cloves, cinnamon and bring to a boil.
6) Once the mixture is brought to a boil, turn heat down and simmer.  
7) Mix in the vanilla.  
8) Using the greased casserole dish, layer half of the toast, raisins, nuts, syrup and the cheese.  
9) Repeat the layers until all done. 
10) Bake in the oven for 30 minutes uncovered
11) Best when served warm.  Enjoy!
  1. 1 cup white sugar
  2. 1 1/2 cups water
  3. 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  4. 1 pinch ground cloves
  5. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  6. 6 slices white bread, toasted and cut into cubes
  7. 1 cup chopped walnuts
  8. 1 cup raisins
  9. 1 1/2 cups shredded Colby longhorn cheese
