Chicken Lo Mein

Chicken Lo Mein Noodles Recipe - In no time you will have a delicious Chinese Recipe low mein noodle recipe with chicken. Chinese food is very popular, and this is a favorite recipe.

 

Instructions:

1) In a mixing bowl, add the 1 1/2 tablespoons of vinegar, 1/4 cup of soy sauce, 2 teaspoons of sugar and mix together well.

2) Add the chicken to the mixing bowl and coat well. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.  Discard the sauce when ready to cook.

3) Using another mixing bowl, mix together the water, chicken broth, sesame oil and season with black pepper and remaining sugar, vinegar and soy sauce.  Mix together well.

4) Dissolve the corn starch in a cup or small bowl with 2 or 3 tablespoons of the chicken broth liquid mixture.  Then combine the corn starch with the rest of the chicken broth and mix well.

5) Prepare the noodles according to the package. 

6) In a heated wok, add the vegetable or canola oil, once the oil is hot, add the chicken and stir fry for 5 minutes or until fully cooked.

7) Transfer the chicken to a plate and set aside.

8) Place the remaining oil into the wok and add the garlic, ginger, green onions, mushrooms and stir fry together for about 1 minute.

9) Add the sauce mixture onto the vegetables and the chicken. 

10) Simmer unti the sauce begins to thicken not more then 2 to 3 minutes.

11) Place the noodles to the wok and coat well with the sauce.

12) Stir fry for about 1 to 2 minutes.  Ready To Serve.

  1. 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cut into thin strips
  2. 4 teaspoons white sugar, divided
  3. 3 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
  4. 1/2 cup soy sauce, divided
  5. 1 1/4 cups chicken broth
  6. 1 cup water
  7. 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  8. 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  9. 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  10. 1 (12 ounce) package uncooked noodles
  11. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
  12. 2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger root
  13. 4 garlic cloves, crushed
  14. 1/2 pound fresh shitake mushrooms, stemmed and sliced
  15. 6 green onions, sliced diagonally into 1/2 inch pieces
