Ground Turkey Chili - Sausage Chili Recipe

Using this Ground Turkey and Sausage Chili Recipe, is flavorful dish that will be all the rave at your dinner table, with festive condiments, like the cheddar cheese, green onions and sour cream. This recipe will make enough chili for 8 people at 1 cup each.  Perfect with your favorite bread, flour or corn tortillas.  Make it spicier be choppin in some fresh green chillies and a dash of cayenne pepper or make the recipe milder using the spice paprika for a more kid friendly dish.  Serve with flour or corn tortillas, or your favorite bread, or serve it as it is.  Can be served as a main dish, with a hearty salad on the side, to make it a complete meal.  Enjoy!

Instructions:

1) In a large pot, heat the oil and saute the onions, cumin powder, crushed red pepper (optional) for 3 minutes.

2) Add the ground turkey and chicken sausage, cook together until the meat is fully cooked and browned.

3) Then add the diced tomatoes, chicken broth, water, basil and oregano, canned black beans, kidney beans and pinto beans.

4) Place the chili in a serving dish, sprinkle with cheddar cheese, green onions and a spoon full of sour cream.

  1. 3 tablespoon canola oil
  2. 12 ounce chicken sausage, cut into small pieces
  3. 1 pound ground beef
  4. 1 large onion, finely chopped
  5. 4 cloves fresh garlic, finely chopped
  6. 1 tablespoon, cumin powder
  7. crushed red pepper to taste (optional)
  8. 15 ounce can diced tomatoes
  9. 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  10. 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  11. 1 cup chicken broth
  12. 15 ounce can pinto beans, not drained
  13. 15 ounce can black beans, not drained
  14. 15 ounce can kidney beans, not drained
  15. 1 cup water
  16. green onions, thinly sliced (optional)
  17. sour cream, (optional)
  18. shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
