How to prepare Spicy Potato Side Dish

For those of us who love spicy food this is an excellent option to serve with fish.

Directions for this tasty spicy potato side dish an Indian Recipe
1- Cook the already cut potatoes in a pot of boiling water for 7 to 8 minutes or until tender. Do not overcook.
2- Drain the potatoes and let it cool down.
3- Put oil in a non stick casserole add the mustard seeds and fry them until they start to splatter
4- On medium heat, add cumin seeds, fennel seeds, coriander powder, black pepper, garlic, ginger and the potatoes. Stir well. Cook for 7 to 8 minutes.
5- Add the green chillis and salt and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
6- Add the lemon juice and the cilantro. Mix well and cook for another 1 or 2 minutes.
7- transfer the potatoes into a serving dish and serve hot or cold. There are many potato side dish recipes, this is one of my favorites.

  1. 6 medium potatoes washed and cut to bite size(peeling is optional)

  3. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  4. 1 tsp fennel seeds
  5. 1 tsp crushed coriander seeds
  6. 1/2 tsp yellow mustard seeds
  7. 1 1/2 tsp minced fresh ginger
  8. 1/2 tsp black pepper
  9. 2 tbsp fresh cillentro finely chopped
  10. 2 fresh green chillies finely chopped (optional)
  11. 3 tbsp lemon juice
  12. 2 cloves of garlic crushed
  13. Salt to taste
