Louisiana Southern Fried Chicken

Louisiana Southern Fried Chicken Recipe - Easy recipe to put together in no time at all.  This recipe has been past down through generations and is a perfect Southern Comfort Food Recipe.


1) Using a mixing bowl, combine the eggs and milk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and season with salt and pepper. 

2) On the chicken pieces, sprinkle the remaining garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper and salt to taste.

3) Place the flour on a plate or plastic bag (for easy clean up)

4) Flour each piece of chicken.

5) In a fry pot or skillet, heat up the oil, and once the oil is hot place each piece of chicken in the hot oil.

6) Cook for about 7 to 10 minutes on each side, turn as necessary.  Cook until the meat juices run clear. 

7) Remove with a slotted utensil and place kitchen paper towel plate.

8) Ready to serve! Enjoy!

  1. 1 (3 pound)chicken pieces
  2. 2 eggs, beaten
  3. 1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
  4. 2 teaspoons salt
  5. 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
  6. 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  7. 2 teaspoons onion powder
  8. 1 teaspoon paprika powder
  9. 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  10. 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil for frying
