Who let the monkeys out? lol - If you love a quick and easy recipe to make that will make the crowd roar with excitement then you have reached the right recipe.  Amazing that its made with store bought ready made biscuit dough.  Sort of reminds you of cinnabon with yummy goodness, best served warm, and I simply place my serving of left overs (which usually there is none) in the microwave to heat up for a few seconds.  If you ever were wondering how to make monkey bread, this easy tutorial will guide you step by step to make the easiest and best monkey bread around! 

Choose your favorite nuts, it could be walnuts, pecans, or any nut that you like or have on hand.  This recipe is super fantastic at parties. 


Preparing the biscuits:

1) Take the biscuits out of the packaging and pull apart into each round and cut into 2 pieces each if using the 7.5 ounce, if using 12  ounce cut into 4 pieces.

2) In a ziploc bag or small bowl add 1 cup sugar and 1 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and mix together.

3) Add small batches of the cut biscuits into the sugar mixture and coat well, remove coated biscuits onto a plate.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

Making the syrup:

1) In a small pot melt the butter.

2) Once the butter has melted add the nut of choice (chopped walnuts) and mix together, also add the 1 cup of brown sugar.  Only heat through do not cook together.

3) Turn heat off and set aside to cool down.

Putting the Monkey Bread Together:

1) Using a cake pan, spray with conola or vegetable oil.

2) Add half the cinnamon biscuit dough into the cake pan evenly.

3) Pour half the syrup onto the biscuits.

4) Add the remaining cannamon biscuits into the cake pan.

5) Finish off with the rest of the syrup on top.

6) Bake in the preheated oven on the middle rack for 30 to 35 minutes.

7) After the cooking time is up, remove from the oven and allow to cool for 10 to 15 minutes.

8) Place a large plate on top of the cake tin and flip over.

9) Serve warm. Enjoy!

  1. 6 - 7.5 ounce can of refrigerated biscuits Cut in 2's
  2. or 3 - 12 ounce cans refrigerated biscuits Cut in 4's
  3. For the Cinnamon Sugar:
  4. 1 cup sugar
  5. 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  6. For the Syrup:
  7. 3/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  8. 1 cup of chopped walnut or pecans (nut of your choice)
  9. 1 cup brown sugar
  10. 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  11. Cake Pan
  12. Cooing Spray canola or vegetable oil.
