Parsley Couscous Pilaf Recipe

Parsley Couscous Pilaf Recipe - How to make couscous, parsley couscous, with butter, cumin, cayenne pepper and other spices. A side dish recipe that is healthy and easy to do.



1) In a medium size pot boil the water.

2) In a large fry pan, heat the butter and extra virgin oilive oil.

3) Saute the onions until they are soft about 10 minutes.

4) Add the cayenne pepper and cumin and continue to cook further for 1 minute.

5) Add the onion mixture to the boiling water and the couscous.

6) Season with salt and black pepper to taste

7) Turn heat to low and cover with a lid.

8) Cook for 10 minutes or until all the water is absorbed and the couscous is tender.

9) Turn the heat off and mix in the parsley.

10) Serve immediately.


  1. 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  2. 1 Tablespoon unsalted butter
  3. 1 small onion, cut into 1/4-inch dice
  4. 3/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  5. Pinch of cayenne pepper
  6. one 10-ounce box medium-grain couscous (Read Instructions On Box)
  7. 1-1/4 teaspoons salt
  8. 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  9. 2 Tablespoons fresh flat-leaf parsley, coarsely chopped
